The 2025 Fly-In
This next year, the volunteers at Fly Apache Pass RC are going to stay “with our roots” and focus on a SUPER FUN and SUPER CHILL “tailgate” style 3D & Fun,Flying, and a Family atmosphere with an emphasis on both Extreme and Sane Flying.
YOUTH FLYING
One new addition is a focus on the youth RC Flyers of tomorrow. We’ll buddy-box on Saturday morning and each youth gets one raffle ticket per 5 min flight and that raffle ticket will be used to win a complete trainer setup. In 2024 we were blessed with three (3) aircraft to raffle off to just the kids. Complements of Joseph Puentes as well as Horizon Hobby.
SCHOOL PROGRAM
As we move forward we invite any and all schools to visit this event as a STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) endeavor and hands on curriculum. We will offer one-on-one flight time with AMA (Academy of Model Aeronautics) experienced Certified Instructor Pilots covered by AMA insurance. The instructor maintains flight control at all times using a separate transmitter as a primary control to a students co-pilot transmitter. This ensures the student safely experiences all the facets of aviation to actual UAV Drone or (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) fixed wing flight control. Our Pilots are also registered with the FAA in accordance with AMA parameters for safety.
YOU ARE INVITED TO SCHEDULE A CLASS VISIT TO ATTEND ON A THURSDAY DURING THE EVENT.
BRAGGING AWARDS
A new addition to the event will be a 3D/Freestyle Showdown on Saturday. Set to music of the pilots choice there will be 4 awards. (1) Spectators Choice; (2) Riskiest Flight; (3) Simplest Flight; and (4) Wildest Flight. Each 1st place finisher will be presented with an award plus a bottle of Garage Oil “Bad Ass” Spirits. A goal is to mitigate interruptions to free flying time while offering some hair-raising exhibition of control, style, grace, and intestinal fortitude; albeit, “guts”!
ATTENDEES/RC PILOTS
Finally, RC Pilots will notice that we’ve had to increase the fees slightly to cover all the costs (field rent, septic, lights, tent, mowing prep, food, and shirts etc.
That said, a pre-registration package savings option up until September 30, 2025 will be offered to cover the overhead, a dinner, and a shirt.
There will also be an A-La-Carte menu option for folks who just want to fly.
Extra Shirts and Extra Dinners will also be offered.
FLYING & FIELD PARAMETERS
Everyone is welcome! Everyone fly’s as much as they want! Everyone respects others’ skills & experiences, and we all help each other out.
At least 2 flight lines, tons of fun, great friends, raffle, night flying, food trailer, on-site vendors, RV park nearby, we’ve got it ALL.
CAMPING
RV’s and Travel Trailers are welcome to camp at the field adjacent to either of the established flight lines. There is a $10 charge for the duration of the event. Note, this is dry camping only – no hookups for water, septic, or electricity is available.
There is often available space at the adjacent RV Park which is less than a mile away.
Cargo trailers for planes and equipment are exempt from this fee and may be dropped off at the line for the duration of the event.
VISITORS
Visitors are encourage to stop by and visit and explore the venue, talk to some of the pilots, inquire about the aircraft, and enjoy the freestyle/3D antics by some of the skilled pilots in attendance.
There is no seating so visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs, shade, and drinks to stay hydrated as they enjoy the event.
Attendance is Free for Visitors.

The Online and Pre-Registration Will Open Officially January 1, 2025. You are also more than welcome to come and register at the event itself. However, pre-registration up to September 25, 2025 will enable you to obtain an event shirt included in the package cost as well as A-la-carte or extra shirts.
The registration costs are as follows:

A La Carte Costs to Attend
– Pilot Adult Reg $45
– Pilot Youth Reg $15
– Shirt $30 (until 9/25/25)

Extra Shirts $30 ea. (until 9/25/25)
Shirt for 2025 is anticipated to be White or Red (Cotton or Moisture Wicking) with opposing lettering – similar to rendition below with smaller logo in front.
